RCA Record Player Works Great

STK 2876 1963 Chevrolet Impala

Our friends in Detroit were producing “muscle cars” long before someone coined the phrase. They were larger and heavier than their later mid-size counterparts, but had amazing powertrains. One of these was the 1963 Impala '409'. An Impala 2-door hardtop was striking from any angle - certainly one of Chevrolet's best looking full-size models and with the 409W motor it would really run. The current owner of this Impala performed a total restoration 'back-to-original' in 2019. We do not have the build sheet, but based on everything that we observe it appears to be a true 409 'W' car. As can be seen in the pictures, the exterior is pin-straight. The Tuxedo Black paint (original color - code 900) and chrome are virtually flawless. A fully restored interior is an invitation to go back in time. The upholstery is stunning and the dash is fitted with a Stewart Warner tachometer and aftermarket gauge package. One other very unusual 'add-on' feature is a fully-functional RCA record player to spin your 45s. Horsepower is furnished by the famous '409' cubic inch GM 'W-Series' engine rated at 425hp. The owner states that this is the original matching numbers motor (numbers stamped on the block) and that was totally rebuilt in 2019. This 409 has solid lifters and a 2x4 intake with two original Carter AFB performance carburetors (no chokes). Exhaust is routed through factory manifolds to mufflers with a nice mellow tone. This 409W is backed by the numbers-matching 4-speed manual transmission w/Muncie shifter to a factory differential. Steel wheels are dressed with 'dog dish' hubcaps and mount 14” bias-ply tires. The chassis is equipped with power steering and 4-wheel drum brakes. Overall, this Impala '409' appears very much as delivered 1963, only nicer. It must be seen to be appreciated. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
