1936 Ford Sedan

Description

Restored 2005
Original 221 ci Flathead V8

STK 2879 1936 Ford Sedan

This 1936 Ford 'Standard' Fordor Sedan was partially restored 'back-to-original' in 2005. The Standard sedan varied little from the Deluxe model in '36. A Deluxe simply added a chrome grill, chrome windshield frame, passenger wiper and a second taillight. The mechanicals were the same on both models. The sedan body is very straight with excellent panel fit. A distinctive respray of the original 'Ford Black' finish with subtle pinstrip was professionally applied and is in very good condition. (There is a trace of rust on the fender near the left rear wheel.) Chrome is outstanding with accents that include the classic 'V8' hood ornament, dual horns, dual mirrors, 'suicide' doors and an excellent 'closed car top' roof. A set of 16” spoke wheels with V8 hubcaps and wide-white Firestone bias-ply tires completes the exterior package. The interior, completely restored in handsome tan cloth, looks better than the original. A fully restored dash is excellent with working factory gauges and a classic 'banjo' wheel. The owner states that this Ford is powered by a matching numbers 221ci flathead V-8 that has been rebuilt and outputs 85bhp. It runs as smooth as silk and is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission with factory floor mounted shifter. Mechanical drum brakes handle stopping requirements and the 6-volt electrical system performs very well. This '36 Ford Fordor sedan will be an excellent addition to your Blue Oval garage.
