Description

PARTIAL RESTORATION 2015
390 ci FE SPECIAL V8

STK 2896 1963 Ford Galaxie 500

This fully restored 1963 Ford Galaxie is a great example of one of Ford's best looking full-size models. This Ford presents nicely as a Galaxie 500XL model however, according to the VIN and the Warranty Number plate, this Ford was factory delivered as a Galaxie 500 without the 'Code 68 XL option'. The XL option included upgrades to the interior/exterior trim. This Galaxie appears to have these elements of the XL package, but the build Code 66 is not correct for an XL. The fiery red hardtop is striking from any angle. The exterior was professionally refinished with Rangoon Red in 2015. Chrome is excellent (there is a lot of it) and factory steel wheels w/full wheel covers mount whitewall radial tires. A pair of rear fender skirts adds to the period-correct look. The interior is an invitation to go back in time – fully restored to XL standards. Upholstery, dash, headliner, door cards - all very nice. Our owner has also installed an AM/FM/cassette sound system. Muscle is provided by a 'Thunderbird' 390ci FE Special V-8 that was rebuilt in 2011. The factory intake manifold mounts a Holley 4-barrel carb and everything under the hood looks original. This engine is rated at 300hp/427lb-ft and is backed by a Borg-Warner 4-speed manual gearbox. The chassis is rock-solid with power steering and 4-wheel drum brakes. This car is ready to be enjoyed by someone who appreciates early 60's Blue Ovals. Why not you? ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”. .
