STK 2899 1969 Pontiac GTO
The GTO remains one of the most popular muscle cars of all time. Pontiac introduced the concept in 1964 and we thank them for it. Pontiac based the second gen GTO on the mid-size Lemans chassis and then added a potent V-8, suspension upgrades and GTO body visual enhancements. The second-gen GTO was somewhat larger than the original, but a much better all-around car. According to the VIN, this 1969 hardtop is a '42 code' factory GTO. The current owner performed a full restoration over the past 4 years and a furnished binder provides a comprehensive record of the restoration. (It also includes copies of the original window sticker and factory production build sheet.) The Crystal Turquoise Poly (original color/code 55) 2-stage paint was professionally applied. There are three base coats w/pearl and multiple coats of clear. Exterior enhancements include accent strips, dual hood scoops, a rear-deck spoiler, 'GTO' trim and Pontiac Rally II wheels w/Cooper Cobra radials. The Parchment vinyl bucket seat interior has been fully restored back-to-original (2018) and is in very good condition. The factory gauge package in this GTO was very basic - analog gauges and tachometer were optional in '69 - and a set of iEquus gauges have been added. All window glass is factory 'Soft Ray' tinted and a Kraco AM/FM/cassette stereo system plays your tunes. Under the hood is a rebuilt (2017) Pontiac 400cid motor factory rated at 350hp and 455 lb/ft. It appears to have been built to stock specs and sounds just like it should. The 400 is fitted with an Edelbrock 4V carb, an aluminum radiator and is backed by a 3-speed Turbo HydraMatic transmission. The chassis is equipped with power steering and manual drum brakes. The current owner is ready to pass this beautiful Goat on to the next lucky caretaker. If you purchase this authentic '42 code' GTO you will not go wrong. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
