STK 2965 1971 Datsun 240z

The Datsun 'Z' series began production in 1969 and we believe that this '71 240Z is a somewhat unique mode. Early production of the Z model was designated as the 'Series 1'. This 3-owner '71 240Z appears to be one of these early models. The VIN number fits the criteria (dated 12/70) and it has features only seen on Series 1 model including air vents on the rear hatch, unique '240Z' roof badging and vertical rear defroster. There are manufacturing plates on the engine and passenger shock tower that help document the car. Our Datsun has been partially restored back to original condition. It is virtually rust free, even in areas where rust is common such as the battery box. The New Sight Orange exterior was refinished at some point, is in good condition, but somewhat weathered in some areas. Accents include nice chrome, factory '240Z' badging and 14” alloy wheels. The interior has been refreshed with new seat vinyl, carpeting, seals and essential details. The dash has two very small cracks, but all else is in excellent condition. Features include a factory AM sound system and full gauge package. (A sound-dampening mat is still under the carpeting in the rear storage area and there is an Owners Manual in the glove box.) Power is furnished by a matching numbers 2.4L SOHC six-cylinder that is said to have never required a rebuild. The cast iron block incorporates a factory aluminum head, rebuilt dual SU-style carbs (appear to be correct Hitachi 44mm units), upgraded PerTronix ignition and free-flowing exhaust system. A 4-speed all-syncro manual gearbox provides torque to a stock rear differential. Front suspension is MacPherson strut w/drag links, coil springs and sway bar. Steering is manual rack and pinion and power assisted disc/drum brakes w/dual master provide stopping power. Rear suspension is Chapman struts, coil springs and telescopic dampeners. This Datsun 240Z Series 1 coupe is a very rare Datsun and belongs in your collection. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
