STK 3275 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air

If you went to the Chevy dealer in 1956 and filled out an order form, you could create a nice little factory street rod. Back then, the optional “PowerPack” performance engine was the Corvette-inspired 265ci small-block with 2x4-barrel carburetors (only a few sedans were granted this setup in '56 – one for Harley Earl). Mated with a 3-speed manual transmission, you had the performance machine of the day.

That was then - our '56 Chevy is now. This beautiful, fully restored Bel Air 2-door post is a serious street rod. The restoration was basically completed in 2012 and the owners have furnished a comprehensive package of information/receipts relating to the resto process. The car is currently registered in North Carolina, but based on historical receipts the Bel Air spent most of its life in dry Arizona. A very solid body was carefully prepped and refinished in single stage Flame Red and Tuxedo Black. Most chrome pieces have been replaced and period correct 15” Cragar S/S wheels (7”f/10”r width) mount Delinte radials and accent a subtle 'rake' from 2” drop front spindles – also period correct for 1956. The Black/Red interior is outstanding. Seat upholstery is diamond-tufted vinyl and the bucket seats flank a full custom console. The dash was carefully redesigned to hold a complete set of Classic Instruments digital gauges and there is a leather-wrapped tilt alloy wheel with IDIDIT column wiring harness. The window glass is tinted, a new windshield has been installed and the Vintage Air A/C system includes new Vintage dash controls.

As stated earlier, the 'now' performance of this '56 is serious. A built 383ci 'stroker' motor resides under the hood. The stroker is fuel injected and controlled by a FAST Sportsman XFI Engine Management System that includes FAST distributor/ignition/coil and ECU w/dash control panel. A hydraulic CompCam with .550”/.546” lift / 253/264 duration was fitted and a pair of LTS 'block-hugger' headers exit to a custom stainless exhaust. All this is backed by a 5-speed Tremec TKO-600 manual gearbox w/Hurst Comp+ shifter that transfers torque to a Ford 8.8” positraction differential with 3.27:1 gears. The clean chassis is equipped with power rack/pinion steering, front sway bar and 4-wheel power disc brakes w/dual master cylinder. If you want 'the rare' Tri-Five model, come take a ride in this '56 Chevy Bel Air - you just may take it home! ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
