Stk. 2236 1964 Plymouth Fury
Plymouth jumped into the 'muscle car race' in '68 with the 383 Roadrunner and it was an instant success. Why so? Mainly because MOPAR had been building performance cars for years, just not marketed them as muscle cars. This 1964 Plymouth Fury is a perfect example. It was basically the same size as the Roadrunner, but much better looking. When equipped with the 383ci 'wedge' and an A-833 4-speed, this B-body was quick between the lights. Our Plymouth is a rare classic - only a limited number of Furies had this drivetrain configuration, and even fewer are around today. The current owner (8 years) knows some of the history on this North Carolina car, has a copy of the broadcast sheet and believes that the mileage of 46,651 may very well be original. Beginning in 2009, he oversaw a total restoration of the hardtop. It received a new coat of factory LL-1 Turquoise and an original reproduction vinyl interior. All of the exterior chrome/stainless is in very good condition and the inside, including that impressive Hurst shifter, looks virtually showroom fresh. According to the owner, the factory 383ci wedge has never been rebuilt and retains the Carter AFB and dual-point Chrysler distributor. The famous A-833 4-speed (originally engineered for S/S racing) is virtually indestructible. Like most MOPARs of this era, the Fury is equipped with manual steering and 4-wheel drum brakes. It strikes a nice stance with coil-over rear shocks and polished Torque Thrust wheels that mount BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. This is a rare 'bird - the original Roadrunner if you will. This includes cashier's checks, certified checks, or bank checks of any kind. We cannot accept any credit card as payment or partial payment for a vehicle under any circumstance. Credit card transactions are ONLY accepted for the $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for 7 days while awaiting full payment.
