STK 3331 1967 Austin-Healey Sprite Race Car

The Austin Healey Sprite Mark IV was produced British Motor Corp/British Leyland from 1967 through 1971. It was a very basic sports car powered by a 1275cc OHV 4-cylinder engine. That said, this 1967 Sprite is a serious racecar that was built by Billy Coates in 2005 and has been carefully 'tweaked' over the years. The owner has campaigned this Sprite very successfully for the last 16 years in VRG, VDCA and SVRA events. It has consistently been one of the fastest Sprites on the East Coast circuit.

The Sprite is fully race-equipped with the following features:
• All-steel body w/black-red finish
• Full halo roll cage
• Wrap-around racing seat w/cloth upholstery, 6-point RaceQuip harness
• 13” Quick release wheel
• Full gauge package incl air/fuel ratio and shift light
• Accusump 2-qt oil accumulator w/electric valve
• 8-gallon ATL fuel cell

Horsepower is provided by a 1300cc BMC 'A-Series' 4-cyl OHV engine that was rebuilt in 2021. Output is rated at 130bhp and 106lb/ft and it is backed by a 'dog-ring' 4-speed gearbox. Engine race modifications include:
• Polished, balanced crank
• 4-bolt center main bearing
• JE 13.5:1 pistons, polished rods, ARP bolts
• Comptune head w/ARP bolts and Cometic gasket
• Harland Sharp roller rockers
• Prepped Lucas 25D distributor w/Pertronics, MSD box and coil
• Dual HS-4 carbs – Thru-bored w/shaved throttle shafts and butterflys
• Long center branch header
• Competition radiator
• Remote oil filter/oil cooler

Front suspension upgrades include:
• 500# Coil springs w/ adjustable perches
• 7/8” Anti-roll bar
• Poly bushings
• Winners Circle comp spindles
• MiniLite alloy wheels w/Hoosier tires
• Disc brakes

Rear suspension features include:
• Offset leaf springs
• Armstong adjustable shocks/panhard bar
