MOPAR 440ci RB Series Motor
Restored 2015

STK 3373 1973 Plymouth Barracuda

Chrysler introduced the 3rd generation Barracuda in 1970. The all-new model was built on a shorter, wider version of Chrysler's existing B-platform and was called the E-Body. This '73 Barracuda was fully restored in 2015 and has been well cared for since. Per its data tag, the 'Cuda was factory equipped with a 318ci 'LA' (E44) engine and 3-speed automatic transmission (D34), but according to the owner (7 years) it is now powered by a MOPAR 440ci RB-series motor that was donated by a '71 Barracuda.

Originally finished in Autumn Bronze Metallic, (GK6), this 'Cuda received a professional 2-stage respray of Spinnaker White that is in very good condition. Accents include Matte Black finish on the 340 'Cuda hood along with chrome Magnum 500 style 15” alloys that mount ProTrac-60 performance radials. A refreshed interior includes new ProCar front bucket seats, dash pad, rear seat upholstery, carpeting and headliner. A correct E-body 'Hurst pistol grip' shifter is married to Brewer's Performance shift linkage. Other new components include the heater box, weatherstripping, door latches/handles, tinted windshield and front/rear wiring harnesses.

The cast iron 440 'Wedge' was rebuilt to stock specs with new bearings, rings/seals and Milodon oil pump. It is fitted with an Edelbrock Air-Gap intake manifold, dual-feed 750cfm Holley carb and CompCam w/.525 lift/305 duration. Lifters and rockers are new and an electronic ignition provides fire. Exhaust exits through Hooker headers to a free-flowing 3” dia. system and an HD aluminum radiator manages cooling. The Wedge is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox, new 11” flywheel/clutch assembly and 8-3/4” positraction differential w/Richmond 3.91:1 gears/10-spline yoke. The chassis is equipped with manual steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes w/dual master (all new). Components of the front suspension were rebuilt, new rear leaf springs (HD 440) were installed and (4) new KYB shocks have been fitted. The fuel pump, fuel lines and gas tank are also new. This is a very unique retro 'Cuda – grab the 'pistol shifter' and hang on. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”
