STK 3405 1951 Willys Jeep CJ3A

Willys-Overland introduced the CJ-3 in 1949 in an effort to improve comfort and drivability of the previous CJ-2. It was part of the 'Universal CJ' series, models intended for agricultural/industrial applications in the civilian marketplace. The CJ series employed the same utilitarian features of the military 'MB' model, but offered modest comfort upgrades. This 1951 Willys CJ-3 had a partial restoration in 2012. The original body has had a full respray that is similar to Jeep Shadow Gray. Some of the sheet metal on the undercarriage has rust damage and it appears that some parts of the floor pan have been replaced. Other areas may need to be addressed. The seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl and are in good condition. There is a one-piece windshield, full set of analogue gauges, dual 'bottom-mount' vacuum wipers and a functioning heater. A custom cover is also included with the Jeep. Horsepower is provided by a 134ci 'Go Devil” flathead 4-cylinder engine that outputs 60hp-105 lb/ft. It is said to have never required a rebuild and runs well. The cooling system has been refreshed including a new radiator and hoses. The flathead is backed by a T-90 3-speed transmission that is mated to a 2wd/4wd, Hi/Lo transfer case. The front axles of the CJ-3A model did not come with 'Warn' locking/unlocking hubs. The braking system is hydraulic 4-wheel drum and electrics are 6-volt. The CJ-3 is equipped with the larger 16” military wheels/tires (5) that are perfect for rough terrain. A rear tow hitch has also been added. Become the next owner of this Willys CJ-3A and have some fun. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
