1981 Jeep J-10

Description

The Jeep J-10 is a full-size pick-up based on the large SJ Wagoneer platform. It was built and sold under numerous marques from 1962 to 1988. Originally dubbed the Gladiator, then the J2000, it simply became the Jeep J-10 Pickup in 1974. The design was noteworthy, being in production for more than 26 years with only minor mechanical changes. This partially restored 1981 Jeep J-10 Sport Truck is the rare 'stepside” version. It has only had three owners and recently took a 2nd Place Trophy in Class at the 2017 Charlotte AutoFair CarCorral. The current owner states that the indicated mileage of 50,510 is actual. The Dark Blue finish was professionally applied in 2011 and white accents provide a sharp contrast. Inside, rare factory bucket seats w/console were reupholstered and new carpet installed. The original dash includes a full set of gauges and AM/FM stereo. Headliner and door panels are in very good condition. Overall, the interior is very sharp. The Jeep is powered by a matching numbers AMC 360 CID V8, now equipped with an Edelbrock dual-plane aluminum intake and Holley carburation. It has never required a rebuild and sounds great through a custom dual exhaust system. The 4-speed manual transmission is mated to a Dana 4-WD transfer case with manual front hubs. The pickup has optional power steering and 15” white spoke steel wheels that mount nice Cooper Cobra radials. Dual-master front disc and rear drum brakes are power assisted. The heavy-duty suspension appears to be stock and a 2” receiver has been installed beneath the rear bumper. This Jeep J-10 Sport is ready for the new owner who will appreciate the great looks and muscle of this rare, full-size classic Jeep.
