STK 3947 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible
The Corvette Stringray was introduced in 1963 and C2 production continued through 1967 model year. These classics are arguably the most collectible Corvettes of all time, and like the book title says – 'All Corvettes Are Red'. This classic 1965 Corvette Stingray roadster has been the proud possession of its current owner for 26 years, carefully restored in 2009 and in overall very good condition. A professional two-stage respray of Rally Red was applied to the fiberglass exterior and there is a manually operated white soft-top that is in good nick. A black hardtop is also included - a very rare, desirable option for the C2 generation of the Corvette. The refreshed red leather interior shows nice attention to detail. The roadster is factory equipped with air-conditioning but the components are in need of some TLC. An aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette sound system has also been installed; however, the radio does need a little TLC. It appears that all gauges work well including a factory tachometer that is mechanically driven off the distributor. The speedometer has recently been professionally refurbished - no small task. Under the hood, the roadster is powered by a matching numbers 327/300hp small-block that sounds great through a stock exhaust system. With a single four-barrel carburetor and hydraulic cam, this is a very streetable Corvette. The mouse is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox w/Muncie shifter and posi-traction differential with street gears. The chassis is fitted with manual steering and 4-wheel manual disc brakes. GM 15” steel wheels w/factory spinner covers mount Firestone whitewall radial tires. If you have been thinking about investing in a classic C2 Corvette, come study this restored '65 roadster - you will not be disappointed. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”
