It is a perfect illustration of the automobile that is “engineered like no other car in the world”. Nice original versions of this Mercedes model are quite rare on today's resale market. The current owner has possessed this partially restored 1971 Mercedes 280SE for the past 5 years and has documentation for maintenance/service that has been performed on the car. The factory white exterior has been professionally wrapped in white vinyl, a very nice job. Accents include the trademark Mercedes chrome grill, fog lights and steel wheels with full hubcaps that mount nearly new General Altimax radials. The factory original Navy Blue MB tex interior w/walnut trim is in outstanding condition. Comfort features include bucket seats, cold air conditioning, analog gauges, center console and a Becker BC/FM sound system (BC is European for AM).The sedan is powered by a 2.8L M130 straight-6, a SOHC design w/2 valves per cylinder and Bosch mechanical fuel injection. This silky smooth gasoline motor was rated at 158hp and 177lb/ft of torque and is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox w/floor shifter that performs flawlessly. Our preferred and most secure form of payment is a bank wire transfer. We do accept checks but note that any form of a check will have a minimum hold of two business days up to 4 business days until the funds have cleared. This includes cashier's checks, certified checks, or bank checks of any kind. We cannot accept any credit card as payment or partial payment for a vehicle under any circumstance. Credit card transactions are ONLY accepted for the $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for 7 days while awaiting full payment.
