327ci - 4 Speed Manual - Split Window $1,148/Month
STK 3969 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Chevrolet introduced the Corvette String Ray in 1963 - the 'Split Window' coupe. This beautiful String Ray is a stunning example of the classic that many consider to be the 'Holy Grail' of the Corvette. The professional restoration (2017) of this coupe is outstanding. The entire drive train - engine, transmission and differential – appear to be matching numbers based on stamping. The exterior was refinished in Sebring Silver (non-original color) and is accented by steel wheels with correct '63 spinner wheel covers and Coker American Classic w/w radials. All chrome is outstanding and the dual '63-only 'hood grilles' look superb. The original interior was Dark Blue Vinyl (code 490J), but currently has black seats, door panels and dash along with the original Dark Blue carpeting that is in very good condition. Every detail of the interior is top-shelf including a handsome wood/alloy wheel. All gauges including the clock are functional and the factory AM/FM 'Signal-Seeking' sound system plays well, but there is a little static due to the fact that a distributor modification does not allow for use of the factory chrome ignition shielding.
The numbers-matching 327ci/300hp was professionally rebuilt to stock specs and sounds magnificent through an aluminized exhaust system. It is equipped with correct intake and Carter AFB 4-barrel w/snorkel air cleaner. Other original factory original components include the alloy valve covers and rams-horn exhaust manifolds. The points/condenser distributor has been replaced with an HEI unit w/mechanical tach drive and the alternator has also been upgraded to a newer version ('73-'74 unit). The small-block is backed by a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual gearbox w/factory shifter and the differential stamp indicate a 3.36:1 posi-traction unit. The solid, clean chassis features power steering and factory drum brakes have been upgraded to 4-wheel power disc units with Delco calipers and dual-master cylinder. If you are looking for a beautiful, carefully restored Corvette split-window, you need to inspect this Stingray - you will not be disappointed. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
