STK 4064 1969 Jaguar XKE 2X2
The 1969 Jaguar E-Type 2+2, also known as the XK-E, was a stylish grand tourer that combined performance, elegance, and practicality. It was part of the E-Type Series-2 lineup manufactured from 1968 thru 1971. The '2+2' model featured a longer wheelbase than the standard coupe, allowing for a small rear seat and easier cabin access via taller doors. This made it more suitable for buyers needing occasional extra seating or luggage space. Proper versions of these coupes are quite rare on the resale market and this beautiful 1969 E-Type is an impressive example of the 2+2 model. The current owner has possessed the Jag for the past 23 years and has a log book/receipts dating back to 2003. It has been impeccably maintained and is in overall outstanding condition. The Regency Red (factory color) exterior was carefully refinished and is in excellent nick. Handsome accents include nice chrome/stainless, eye-catching dual exhaust and distinctive 15” chrome wheels with Uniroyal radials. The stately interior rivals the exterior. Front seating was reupholstered in English leather in 2020 and comfort features include air conditioning, tinted windows, telescopic wheel and a Pioneer Premier AM/FM/CD sound system. The owner has also installed a Compustar security system.
Under the hood, the XKE features a rebuilt (2005) 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six cylinder engine that utilizes a cast iron block, aluminum cylinder head and triple Series-1 SU HS8 side-draft carburetors. Spark is provided by a Mallory Unilite electronic distributor and cooling is managed by a Griffin aluminum radiator with electric fan. This silky six-cylinder motor produces 245hp and 260lb/ft of torque and is mated to an all-syncro 4-speed manual transmission and Series-3 XJ-6 differential with 3.05:1 gearing. A clean chassis is equipped with rebuilt rack/pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, Spax adjustable air-shocks and sway bars. While certain purists favor the earlier Series-1 models, the Series-2 offers greater practicality and comfort, making it an excellent blend of British charm, sports car performance and everyday usability. This classic 1969 E-Type 2+2 will provide all the driving fun you need. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”
