1972 Plymouth Road Runner

Description

440 V8, Auto, Sure Grip
$760/month *See finance page for disclaimer

1972 Plymouth Road Runner-

The Road Runner was Plymouth's answer to the Chevelle 396 and Ford's Torino. The Road Runner was based on a Plymouth Satellite coupe, but featured a vast array of performance upgrades.

Top-Shelf Bare Metal Restoration-

This 1972 Road Runner retains its classic appearance and has been totally restored with mechanical upgrades. The owner states that the car was first disassembled and sand blasted to bare metal. The two-stage re-spray of Autumn Bronze Metallic is in outstanding condition with accents that include factory-correct roof/quarter panel stripes, hood scoops, rear spoiler and Magnum 500 chrome wheels with 15” Cooper performance radials. The handsome interior has been restored back to original. Features include new black vinyl upholstery, bucket seats, A/C, console with SlapStik shifter, full complement of Auto Gage instruments, factory AM/FM sound system and Meep-Meep horn.

Built 440ci Magnum Power-

Power is furnished by the iconic 440ci Magnum Wedge. This engine, while not original to the car, was carefully built to mirror the specs of a '71 GTX. Engine machine work was done including bearings and rings and an Edelbrock performance cam and intake were married with a Holley double-pumper carburetor. The big 440 Wedge sounds fantastic. It is paired to Chrysler's best - the 3-speed 727 TorqueFlite automatic. The 8-3/4” Sure Grip differential is fitted with 4.10:1 gears, but the factory 3.55:1 gear set is available if preferred. The solid chassis is equipped with power steering, stainless exhaust and power disc/drum brakes with dual master and new lines. The suspension has been completely gone through with new components front and rear including HD sway bars, springs and shocks. This rare '72 Road Runner is a piece of MOPAR Performance history from a time when muscle cars ruled the streets. It belongs in your MOPAR garage.
