Description

2301 1930 Ford Model A

This 1930 Ford Tudor is a great platform for a classic street rod. A total restoration including a broad range of mechanical enhancements was planned when the car was purchased from the original owner in 1996. The '30 was completed in 2003. The all-steel body was chopped, carefully prepped and refinished in GM Firethorn Red. Front doors were shaved (electric poppers) and a '32 grill shell was added. This Tudor sits on a nicely detailed Chassis Engineering frame with a Heidts 8” dropped front suspension and power steering. In arrears, there is an 8” Ford differential with multi-link coil-over rear suspension and a rear-mounted fuel tank. Power disc/drum brakes (Wilwood front) were installed and polished American Racing (14”/15”) wheels mount Goodyear radials. Horsepower is furnished by a rebuilt 350ci GM small block bored .030 over with a Wolverine street cam, Edelbrock 4-barrel intake/carburetor, Mallory ignition, Griffin aluminum radiator, tube headers and free-flow exhaust. Behind this mighty-mouse sits a GM TH350 3-speed automatic with Lokar shifter. The luxurious interior features beige cloth split-seating by Glide Engineering, Vintage Air A/C, overhead consoles, power-tinted windows and an Kenwood AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo. A stylish dashboard incorporates the full set of Ford Motorsport gauges and a tilt column with leather 'Banjo' wheel. All electrics have been enhanced with a Ron Francis wiring package to facilitate the 12V alternator-based electrical system. Look at the photos again - this handsome Ford Tudor street rod will soon make one new owner very proud.
