STK 2178 2003 Chevy Corvette When introduced in 1997, the C5 was an all-new Corvette, a vast improvement to the C4 that it replaced. Significant new design features were in abundant supply - from an enhanced box frame to a sophisticated rear transaxle, this car was a new benchmark for Corvette comfort and performance. In 2003, Chevrolet produced a very special version - the 50th Anniversary Edition. Our stunning Torch Red (documented special order paint) 50th Anniversary Edition Targa coupe is everything you want in a classic Corvette. The factory LS1 V8 produces 350 bhp and 375 lb/ft of torque, but still delivers 18/25 mpg backed by the factory 4-speed automatic transmission. The original exterior has been carefully maintained, as has the black leather 'non-smoker' interior. Dual power seats (driver's w/memory option) are equipped with lumbar support controls. For ease of entry, the steering wheel is tilt/telescopic. A Bose AM/FM/CD stereo system, with both single-head and 12-disc changer, sounds magnificent. The optional Heads-up Display (HUD) provides speedometer, tachometer and engine data 'line-of-sight'. Other standard features include keyless entry and power windows/locks/trunk. Chassis elements include variable-effort power steering and Corvette's F-55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control System that evaluates road conditions and constantly adjusts traction and handling characteristics. The suspension is an independent double-wishbone configuration with transverse mono-leaf springs that provides excellent ride characteristics. We do accept checks but note that any form of a check will have a minimum hold of two business days up to 4 business days until the funds have cleared. This includes cashier's checks, certified checks, or bank checks of any kind. We cannot accept any credit card as payment or partial payment for a vehicle under any circumstance. Credit card transactions are ONLY accepted for the $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for 7 days while awaiting full payment.
