Description

Stk 2399 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS

When this Goldenrod Yellow Impala SS rolled from the Atlanta assembly line in 1964, it was one of the sharpest Chevrolets ever produced. The '1447' VIN code identifies this restored '64 Sport Coupe as a true SS V8. Every indication is that it was an original 4-speed car, most likely a 327ci small-block. Horsepower for the Impala is now provided by a 409ci 'W-Series' engine that the owner states has been completely rebuilt. It has a 2x4 intake with two four-barrels and the exhaust is routed through Hooker 'shorty' tube headers to a free-flowing exhaust system - what a sound. The 409 is backed by a Muncie 4-speed and a GM posi-traction differential with good street gearing. The exterior was reshot (2008) in the original Goldenrod Yellow color. Body fit and finish are very good throughout. The fully restored black vinyl interior looks virtually the same as it did in '64. A Vintage Air System furnishes a cool breeze and an AM/FM sound system provides cool tunes. There is even a tilt wheel for easy entry/exit. The under-carriage is clean and the chassis is equipped with power assisted drum brakes. GM Rally wheels mount nice 15” radial tires. This Impala SS is a classic full-size muscle car that wants to be your Bowtie garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
