Project Car

Stk 2406 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

First introduced to the U.S. in 1961, the renowned industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague labeled the Type 14 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia one of the most beautifully designed products in the world. Headed-up by Luigi Segre of the Italian carrozzena Ghia and complimented by the hand-built bodywork of the German coach builder Karmann, the VW Karmann Ghia remains a classic to this day. This sharp, red 2-door coupe offers the smooth, rounded lines that made it one of the most sought-after cars of its day. Under the rear bonnet, power comes from a 1600 cc four cylinder air-cooled engine matched-up to a smooth four-speed manual transmission with factory rear end and gearing. The tasteful black and white interior features cloth bucket seats and carpeting. Still stylish after all these years, this Karmann Ghia combines fun and economy in one attractive package.
