1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL

Description

1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL

STK 2162 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL The 1965 Ford Galaxie was an all-new design, much wider than in previous years, and featuring stacked headlights. This unmolested Galaxie 500XL looks like it just rolled into the showroom. The current owner has had it in his collection for the last five years and the odometer reads only 12,756 original miles. Truly genuine, this exceptional hardtop has been a participant in numerous shows sponsored by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and has placed 1st and 2nd at two different Gran National events. The handsome Blue exterior is all original and all chrome trim is in near '65 condition. Narrow whitewalls, chrome fender skirts and correct wire-wheel covers w/spinners accent the body's timeless lines. The Blue interior is all 'showroom stock' right down to the AM radio and electric clock. Standard equipment on these cars was a deluxe offering with bucket seats, console, wall-to-wall carpeting, courtesy lights and contoured vinyl upholstery among other luxury and performance features. The numbers-matching 390-4V/300hp FE engine with dual exhaust has never been rebuilt and still runs like new. It is backed by Ford's three-speed Cruise-o-Matic transmission. Suspension on the 1965 Galaxie was redesigned. Replacing the former leaf-spring rear suspension was a new three-link system, with coil springs. The chassis is also equipped with power steering and power drum brakes. This car arrived at AutoBarn direct from a 'time-capsule'. If you are a serious collector of the Blue Oval classics, take it home. Call 800-650-1055 or visit www.autobarnclassiccars.com for additional information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD AS IS.
