STK 2492 1953 MG TD

The MG-TD is British motoring lore and this amazing 1953 MG-TD has been carefully returned to its '50s glory - a thorough 'frame-on' restoration that was completed in 2014. All major components were restored, rebuilt or replaced with like-original parts. Every major system was addressed - electrical, brakes, suspension, drivetrain, body and interior. (There is an extensive history of the car and the restoration process included with the sale.) The solid body was re-sprayed original MG Red and it is in exceptional condition. Its interior was refurbished back to original with tan leather seating, fitted carpets and a beautiful custom dash. A new full wiring harness was acquired from British Wiring, Inc., the speedometer and tach were fully reconditioned and all other gauges work. There is a new tan top, full tonneau cover and new side curtains. The 1250cc OHV 4-cylinder runs perfectly. Factory SU carbs were meticulously serviced by British Classic Motors (Greensboro, NC) and they are tuned to perfection. You don't even need to choke this classic - it fires right up every time. The motor is backed by an extremely quiet factory 4-speed manual transmission. Electrics are 12-volt positive ground. A Girling master cylinder, stainless steel wheel cylinders and new hoses/pipes/shoes manage braking. All suspension components, including the lever-arm shocks, have been completely rebuilt. The roadster is equipped with stock steel wheels and 165x80Rx15 Kumho radials. This MG-TD is a work of art. After many years of fun, our current owner is willing to let someone else enjoy the ride. Why not you? ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
