STK 2140 1962 VW Standard This rare 3-owner 1962 Volkswagen Beetle is a fine example of one of the most popular cars of all time. The partial restoration began with a rust-free, very straight vehicle and about 75% of the completed car is still original. The undercarriage and running boards are rock-solid and the exterior required only a partial repaint of Pearl White. The interior has been redone in Brick Red/Cream vinyl and the headliner appears to be original. There is no air conditioning, no power seats and no power locks - but there is a great sunroof !! Roll down the windows, throw your stuff in the period-correct roof rack and go have some fun! Our Beetle is powered by a healthy 1200cc flat four that cranks out 40hp. We have been told that the engine has never needed a total rebuild, but has received a major service including a new clutch/pressure plate, carburetor, fuel pump and distributor. Its stock exhaust system is solid with a new heat exchanger. The 4-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the 4-wheel drum brakes perform well. Suspension is all stock and rims are 15 Volkswagen road wheels with nice factory hubcaps and trim rings. This is a sweet Bug and someone is going to have a lot of fun with it. Our preferred and most secure form of payment is a bank wire transfer. We do accept checks but note that any form of a check will have a minimum hold of two business days up to 4 business days until the funds have cleared. This includes cashier's checks, certified checks, or bank checks of any kind. We cannot accept any credit card as payment or partial payment for a vehicle under any circumstance. Credit card transactions are ONLY accepted for the $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for 7 days while awaiting full payment.
