STK 2522 1968 Ford Torino GT Fastback

Torino was the new nameplate for Ford's intermediate sedan in 1968. Base models were nice roomy 4-doors. By simply adding the innovative fastback design, the Torino GT took on a whole new muscle car persona. Our fully restored '68 Torino GT is a great example of this stunning classic. This is not a concours Torino, but rather a beautiful driver. It has been to many car shows, and never once required a trailer to get there. The restoration was conducted in 2003. All replacement parts were either NOS or exact reproduction parts procured from Dearborn Classics and/or Mac's Antique Auto Parts. Highland Green Metallic is the perfect finish for this GT. Accents include a 'Mach 1' style hood scope and factory gold pin stripping. Original bumpers were re-chromed, stainless is in good condition and Torino 14” GT chrome wheels with sport trim rings/centers mount Hankook Optimo radial white-walls that are like new. The black vinyl interior was fully restored to original – professionally installed carpets and seat covers are genuine Ford NOS components. The original Ford AM radio is even included in the sale. Look at the pictures - everything is right. With 9.5:1 compression, the Torino 390ci/2V was rated at 265bhp. This matching numbers FE motor, totally rebuilt, looks and runs like new. (Torque is a whopping 401lb/ft.) All work was done by Ford mechanics using genuine Ford parts. Machine work was carefully engineered including a .030” overbore to the block. The original Autolite 2-barrel carb was rebuilt along with a new fuel pump and the factory C6 automatic was professionally rebuilt. The chassis was reconditioned including new power steering pump, front suspension members, power disc/drum brake components, all bushing and shocks. An original build sheet and warranty card are framed and included with the car. This Torino is a classic Blue Oval from the best days of American muscle. It represents a tremendous value and belongs in your driveway. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
