STK 2665 1957 Ford Courier

The sedan delivery, a car-based panel van, first appeared in the Ford line in 1932. Over the next 25 years plus, various versions came and went, but the concept remained the same. These all-steel station wagons have always been a favorite among merchants and retail business owners. In 1957 a new model branded the Ford Courier was introduced. It was based on the 2-door Ford Ranch Wagon, but with blank panels in lieu of side windows. Just over 6,000 were built. This 1957 'California' Courier was a frame-on restoration (2007) to near-pristine condition. Look at the photos. Excellent chrome trim and period correct Torque Thrust 5-spoke alloys with BFG Advantage T/A radials accent the stunning base-clearcoat Raven Black finish on the laser-straight body. The restored interior is also in very good condition. Seats have been reupholstered in black/white leather and all individual components including the dashboard, headliner, carpeting and door panels are very sharp. A new Painless wiring harness, gauge package and aftermarket AM/FM/10-disc CD changer system have been added. There is also an air conditioning console under the dash that blows cold. According to the VIN, this '57 Courier was factory equipped with the B code 272ci 'Y' block motor. That engine has been replaced with a period-correct 292ci 'Y' block V8 that is fitted with Thunderbird 312 heads and a 600cfm Holley carburation. It is backed by a Ford 3-speed automatic with trans cooler and 9” Ford rear end w/ highway gearing. A detailed undercarriage is equipped with upgraded disc/drum brakes, dual master cylinder, front coil springs and rear leaf springs w/air-shocks. This Courier needs a new Blue Oval owner who will appreciate this rare full-size classic. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
