STK 3505 1951 Buick Super Eight 56R

This 1951 2-door hardtop and is a rare example of a classic Buick. The Model 56 Rivera Super is equipped with more features than base models, but not as luxurious as the Roadmaster series. It has been the recipient of a partial restoration and is in overall very good condition. The exterior was resprayed non-original Blue that is very close to Venetian Blue, a 1952 Buick color. All of the chrome and stainless is in good in condition and accents include a stunning hood ornament, classic '50s chrome grill and 15” factory wheels w/full wheel covers and wide-white bias-ply tires. The cloth/vinyl interior shows well and a stunning dash holds the original push-button AM radio. There is also a full set of factory gauges and a steering wheel that is simply a work of art.

The Buick Model 56R Super is powered by an in-line 263ci OHV 8-cylinder engine that produces 124hp. It was designed with replaceable main/connecting rod bearings and hydraulic valve lifters. The engine uses a Carter WCD 2-barrel carburetor w/heat-pipe automatic choke. The fuel system of this Buick received a recent service that included a carb rebuild, new fuel pump and new fuel tank. Power is transferred by a Dynaflow automatic transmission to a stock rear differential. The Dynaflow transmission is essentially a one speed automatic with a variable torque convertor, much smoother than other automatics of the era. The front suspension is coil springs and the rear is a combination of coil springs and links. The Buick utilizes a rear 'panhard bar' alignment component that was quite advanced for the time. Power-assisted drum brakes provide stopping power and steering is manual. A receipt dated 2011 shows that the braking system was totally rebuilt. This Buick Model 56R hardtop coupe is ready for a new owner who will appreciate this beautiful, classic icon. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
