STK 3544 1955 Ford Sunliner

Back in 1955, Ford produced many versions of their full-size model – their only car model. The Fairlane Sunliner convertible with its fully chromed front end, stylish taillights and subtle rear fins was 1955 to perfection. This mostly-original '55 Sunliner is a great driving old Ford - the motor and transmission perform flawlessly. It is also unique because it is virtually complete inside and out - finding replacement parts for the mid-'50 Fords can often prove to be very difficult. The exterior bodywork is very straight and true, but the two-tone paint is weathered and needs to be addressed in order to take home a trophy at your local show. Exterior accents include a factory continental kit, fender skirts, 15” BFGoodrich Silvertown wide-white bias tires, full factory wheel covers and a power convertible top. The interior was partially restored with new yellow/black pleated vinyl upholstery and front/rear seat belts have been installed. All of the other interior components are in good condition. The dashboard is fitted with factory gauges and the original AM radio (needs TLC). We do not have history on the motor, but according to the VIN it was factory equipped with a 272ci/2V Y-block V8 (U-code). A 3-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic gearbox supplies torque to a factory differential with stock gearing and the chassis is equipped with power steering and manual 4-wheel drum brakes. The electrical system has been upgraded from a 6-volt system to a 12-volt system. This Ford is ready for a new owner who will appreciate the style and fun of this Sunliner classic. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
