Rebuilt Ford 400 V8 New Carpet
STK 2693 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible
This is a very nice, driver-quality 1957 Ford Sunliner that has been the beneficiary of a partial restoration over the last few years. Appearance wise, it is very original, straight and true. The Raven Black finish is in overall good condition, but does have a few minor blemishes. A new black vinyl power softop is in excellent shape, as is all chrome/trim. The interior is in original condition except for rolled and pleated seating (front buckets added) and matching door cards. The dash holds the factory AM radio, an aftermarket AM/FM stereo and a gauge package. New carpeting is in very good condition and the 4-speed shifter is a clean installation. From a mechanical standpoint, this Ford has received significant performance enhancements. Gone are the original Ford 'Y' block V8 and Ford-O-Matic, replaced with a rebuilt Ford 'Series 335' 400ci V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. The 400 engine was derived from the 351C 'Cleveland' design in the early 1970s. It has larger mains, a longer stroke, new cylinder heads and single 2-barrel carburetor. These motors produce high-torque at low RPMs and were used in large, full size Ford models – a perfect upgrade for this big '57 convertible. Five-spoke period correct alloy wheels mount 15” BFG Radial T/A tires and the suspension appears to be the factory configuration with the addition of HD shock absorbers. A custom dual exhaust system is in good condition. If you are looking for a Fairlane 500 Sunliner with good performance, come drive this '57 convertible. “ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
