STK 2837 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7

Our owner purchased this 1973 Cougar XR7 14+ years ago from the family that bought it new, so it is basically a 2-owner XR7. The second generation ('71-'73) Cougar was the last of the Mercury 'pony cars' and the XR7 was the top-of-the-line Cougar. It is considered by many to be a luxury pony car with a look and style influenced by the Continental Mark IV. A '73 Cougar convertible was the last ragtop produced by FoMoCo in the decade of the '70s. This stunning XR7 has been the recipient of a full restoration. The professional two-stage back-to-original re-spray of Gold Metallic (2014) is accented by 14” factory wire-wheel hubcaps and Dayton white-wall radials. The owner states that his XR7 is powered by the matching numbers H-code 351/2V Cleveland that was totally rebuilt this year (2020) and backed by a C4 Select-Shift 3-speed automatic. The chassis is equipped with power steering and power disc/drum brakes w/dual master cylinder. Its gold vinyl interior was fully restored to original in 2019. New floor pans were installed and date coded material was used to create upholstery that looks as-good-as-new. The Cougar is equipped with factory air, rebuilt and converted to R134. There is a handsome power-assisted tan convertible top fitted with a matching boot along with a custom car cover. The original AM/FM stereo works very well and a new turn signal switch assembly was recently installed. Our owner is ready to pass this classic Cougar XR7 on to its next owner - why not you? ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
